Framed prints arrive ready to hang
Framed paper prints are matted with a 2" white mat and protected by non-glare acrylic, so the image stays clear without reflections from windows or lights. Acrylic is lighter and safer to ship than glass, and every framed print arrives with hanging hardware already attached.
MetalPrints with a float mount or frame also arrive ready to hang.

About this photograph
I spent the day exploring Chaco Canyon's ruins, but when a monsoon storm began forming in late afternoon, I drove to Fajada Butte to photograph it against the developing weather. The timing was ideal—the sun near the horizon, storm clouds building overhead, creating that dramatic contrast between warm light on the butte and the dark sky above.
Fajada Butte is significant in Chacoan culture; it contains the famous Sun Dagger site, where ancestral Puebloans marked solstices and equinoxes using carefully positioned rock slabs. The butte stands isolated on the canyon floor, making it a natural focal point when the light is right.
I positioned myself to capture the sandstone face lit by the last direct sunlight while the storm clouds provided that rich purple-orange backdrop. The contrast between the last of the light on the butte and warmer skies fading into the cooler, reddish purple stormy sky above creates the visual tension that makes the composition work.
The dramatic storm light and isolated butte create powerful atmosphere and scale.
